Who doesn't love this book? It was one of my favorites growing up, and now it's one of my kid's favorites. (It also makes it more interesting if you read it thinking that it's a prequel to the Grinch.)

I bought this to use in an ELA lesson about standing up for the little guy. I teach eighth grade. You might think that those kids would not enjoy the works of Dr. Seuss, but you would be wrong. The students made connections between Horton and another popular literary figure, Katniss, from "The Hunger Games." I recommend this book to anyone looking to bring a smile to the faces of others, "because after all,a person's a person, no matter how small."

This children's books has been a favorite of mine for going on the third generation...my grandchildren. There are several important messages that Dr. Seuss wove into the poetic narrative of an elephant, named Horton, who championed the survival of tiny, unseen persons living on a speck of dust that landed on a clover flower. He, with his elephant ears that could hear quite clearly the tiny Who who yelled for help, was barely able to prevent the little Whos in Whoville from perishing at the hands of those who thought Horton was crazy. In the end, with Horton's constant vigil and encouragement for all the Whos to make themselves heard by the doubting crowd, every voice contributed to the effort...but one tiny Who who was shirking his duty to help save them all. But, when he added his own very tiny "Yelp!" those doubting the veracity of Horton's contention that persons, though very small did in fact exist on the tiny dust speck, his final assistance broke the silence and those who had not been able to hear before, heard! And decided to protect the very small persons in Whoville.

We love Dr. Seuss books. This book is a hardback and great quality. We purchased this particular copy of this book for my sister's elephant themed baby shower and had the guests sign the pages with a note as they came in. This book now sits in my nephew's room and is read to him. We have read this book to our children for many years along with other Dr. Seuss titles.

I bought 4 of these for the new grand babies in our book club. The story is an important one.

Horton is at it again (be sure to see "Horton Hatches the Egg"). When he's the only one in his world who acknowledges them as persons, Horton is willing to put his own hide out there (literally) to prove that they (the Who's of Whoville) are of great worth. "A person's a person, no matter how small." Read this over and over to your kids so they will stand up for the underdog that's being bullied at school.

I just bought this book for my newborn son since I used to love it so much as a child. The message of the story is wonderful for children; about making sure that every voice is heard and is important - "a person's a person no matter how small". The drawings of whoville are also terrific. Some have a MC Escher like feel to them with stairs that go nowhere, which would have me staring and contemplating for hours when I was a kid.

Does this really need a review? Well here is a short one. I purchased a few of these for my kindle and I read them to my baby in my belly. Once I start reading the baby starts moving around enjoying the sounds of the different rhymes within the book. Love it!

This is a classic Seuss tale, and I am happy to finally have it as a part of our collection. It is a nice sturdy board book, the same size as some of the other larger Dr. Seuss books, which helps the bookshelf to stay looking neat.

Knowing their past trauma and why she behaves the way she does will make you question her actions and exactly how guilty she truly is.The casual, almost frank recount of Cellie’s pyromaniac episodes are all the more terrifying because they’re not especially graphic. We'll Never Be Apart is an excellent psychological thriller. It is smartly plotted, surprisingly atmospheric, and features characters that are complex and authentic. The author keeps the story moving along at a fast rate through time shifts, and expertly builds suspense as the reader gradually learns more of the story, filling in gaps and creating more questions. I found this book hard to put down, and although I guessed where things were going, it took me a while. Even when I had things pretty much figured out, I was so invested in the characters, I remained glued to the page till the bitter end.Alice is a complex narrator and an engaging young woman struggling with PTSD, memory loss, and a myriad of other problems when we first meet her in a mental health facility. There are allusions to a pending court case, an accusation of murder, and it's obvious that Alice is at the facility as an involuntary commitment. Her mysterious twin sister Cellie is also there in a different ward, and we get to know both of them through Alice's journal entries that detail a tragic past filled with violence and neglect. Add in a romantic interest in the form of a fellow patient, and you get a book filled with tension.This would have easily been a five star read for me except for some events that seemed just a bit too unlikely. Make no mistake though, this is a powerful read and Alice is truly a memorable character. Some of the author's unique choices in plotting keep the story from becoming bogged down in darkness even as it revels in an atmosphere that is almost gothic. We'll Never Be Apart is an enthusiastic recommend for ages 14 and up. I will be looking forward to this author's next work.

In the Psych ward, Alice is determined to get to the highly restricted area so she can finally kill her sister, who’s been tormenting her since they were little. When she meets the mysterious boy named Chase, he promises to help her do just that. Until one night she realizes that Cellie might just be trying to do the same thing to her.Told in chapters occurring in the present, alternating with Alice’s fascinating journal entries detailing events from their childhood- from how the girl’s spent a week in a house alone with their dead grandfather at six years old, to the grim foster situations they’d been placed in.Emiko Jean’s writing is beautifully poetic, heartbreaking, and sinister all at once. There is a very cool twist toward the end, which I did not figure out until it actually happens, and the author does a great job of keeping the reader in suspense for the entirety of the book. I also love the way the twist was handled- realistically, and with sensitivity.My favorite parts were Alice’s journal entries. You get a peek at two little girls, one very damaged and on the border of deranged, and the other just trying to hold on to some sense of normalcy as they grow into teens. Was a must-have addition to my cookbooks! Have tried many DJ BBQ recipes and have never been disappointed. Looking forward to trying all of these!

Awesome book, great recipes

Great book with lot of new and cool ideas for cooking outside.

This book is radonkulious!

I have to say this book looks fantastic each page has a recipe with a full page colour photo of the relevant dish on the opposite page so you can see exactly what the dish will look like, or should look like. It also gives you cooking techniques and BBQ tips this is, and I'm being sexist here but this is the perfect mans BBQ book my husband is just going to love it. Talking of my husband for his birthday last year he got a new barbecue, this turned out to be a never ending present since the rest of the year was spent buying all the additional extras he needed, meat thermometer, pizza stone, tandoori skewers the list goes on and on and unfortunately on.This new barbecue also brought out a selection of new recipes found on the internet a few of these were good, most were ok and a couple were truly awful, awful as in uneatable and unforgettable I, being vegetarian was saved from this experience since the really bad ones were chicken. One in particular was for Chinese chicken wings the recipe asked for 3 tablespoons of Chinese 5 spice powder which my husband thought seemed a lot but since that's what it said, he realised later that it should have been 3 teaspoons.In an effort to save not only money, from all the wasted food but also my family from having to try these dishes and groan every time the BBQ is mentioned I decided to find a book he could work his way through. The price and readability of this book was GREAT!!! The author is a seasoned attorney/pilot and wrote the book for real people, not lawyers and CEOs. It has been really easy to read and the best part about it is that he gives you REAL advice! He even includes checklists and flowcharts to help describe and guide you through the confusing legal world. It has tons of great information from buying aircraft/insurance, protecting yourself from the FAA, and running an FBO. I don't know how it compares to other legal resources out there, but its good enough for Embry-Riddle's courses.

Purchased for class. I was very happy to see the price of this book, as I expected $120+ for ANY required textbook.After paying $120 for college math books that were shipped LOOSELEAF and required me to provide my own binder the great print and build quality of this book is MUCH appreciated. It's fantastic to get a BRAND NEW textbook that I actually get to keep at the end of the semester for a very reasonable price. The content seems up to date and I haven't noticed any grammer, spelling, print or other errors that other commercial educational publishers have been making in their books recently. After reading $120+ books from major publishers that CLEARLY had not been reviewed by an editor (or had ANY quality control whatsoever between revisions) this is a nice change.

I fault this Kindle version of the book for two really obvious and unbelievable shortcomings. 1) There is no Table of Contents - this makes it unusually difficult to navigate an e-book. I am stunned that a book would not have a Table of Contents, even more so an e-book. 2) The Index has no page numbers. What good is having an index if you don't reference the page where the subject is to be found? I expect more from an e-book in terms of being readable and useable, not less!

This book worked great for my class. It had a lot of information and was organized pretty well. If you have to take an aviation law class, I would recommend this book even if it is not your required text book.

This book is great it's like having the real thing on your computer perfect for reading and you're able to search through in a second using the search option.

Love what I have learned in this book, and is of great quality.
