Will Henry is the creator behind Ordinary Bill and Wallace the Brave, both distributed on GoComics.com. His professional career began with his strip Room Mates, which was published in The Daily Campus during his time at the University of Connecticut. He draws his inspiration from everyday life and in the age of the smart-phone, he aims to re-create a world in which kids “still collect bugs and fly kites and eat ice cream cones upside-down.” He lives in Rhode Island with his wife, his cat, and his mistress, the sea.

Thrilled this comic is finally in book format. Wallace the Brave has the perfect mix of fun and innocent humor and masterful artwork. It takes you back to a simpler time before the interruptions of social media posts and cellphones. This comic deserves to be alongside Calvin and Hobbes and Peanuts in the Sunday funnies. It’s perfect for all ages. It’s rare that a comic not only makes you laugh out loud but also connects with you on so many levels.
I accidentally ordered this book when I was ordering children's books for my young son. I didn't realize at the time that it was a compilation of comic strips. I could not have been more wonderfully surprised when got it in the mail. I'm a huge Calvin and Hobbes fan and can definitely see their influence on Wallace the Brave. It's not QUITE at Calvin and Hobbes level, but really enjoyed it and read through the whole book the day I got it, laughing out loud many times! I consider this a must buy for anyone who enjoys witty writing, well designed characters, and a charming setting and art style. Buy this now!!
Endearingly warm and heartfelt, Wallace the Brave captures the honesty and absurdity of childhood perfectly. It fits into that rarified air of strips that seem to truly “get†childhood, like Richard Thompson’s Cul de Sac, to Bill Watterson’s Calvin & Hobbes. Wallace is walking wonderfully in similar terrain and is well worth a read if you miss those genuine Sunday comics full of wonder, the ones that insert random gorgeous dinosaur art beside goofy humor..A++, can’t go wrong gift.
I bought this for my 8 year olds birthday, and wanted to preview a little of it, just to be sure it was appropriate. I ended up reading the whole thing, laughing my way through. I love this comic book! The art is great, the characters are memorable (I read it a few months back), and it's the kind of writing that works on multiple levels. I'm laughing at some things my kids aren't picking up on, and there's plenty there for them to enjoy as well. Nothing inappropriate - I've rejected many a book for my kids due to bad writing, stupid or base humor, morality reasons, etc. This book I definitely recommend. It feels along the lines of Calvin and Hobbes, but in no way steals from it. It is its own story, and I hope we get more!
What a great comic. Brings me back to being young and all the adventures me and my buddies used to go through. Great illustrations and characters. I found myself relating to multiple characters in this book. Made me feel young again and now as a 30 year old I want to go do these adventures again. I highly recommend this book.
I bought this book because someone said it reminded them of Calvin and Hobbes, which I always loved. This was a gift for my 9 year old who loves witty, humorous books. He loved this book and asked me to buy him more. He thought there were more in the series, but it doesn't seem there are. I guess I'll keep looking.
