This is a good version of a spoken bible with different voices. I use it every day on my commute and have gone through it at least 7 times. This is the 2011 version which is different than what I am used to. It's almost that the translators attempted to be politically correct in cases referring to verses which have the word men used which is now being referred to as humans or sons and daughters, anything that limited the verse to men was altered to include women in some form. I don't think it changes the meaning and I can see how they wanted to be more inclusive but it was a bit different than what I am used to. There are some voices which can be a bit depressing and monotone especially Isaiah and Jeremiah. There is some obvious over-acting which is distracting and laughable. Just read the text and stop trying to disguise your voice or add some accent that sounds fake. Overall I still like it and will continue to use it.
I really like this audio Bible BECAUSE it is recorded in normal speaking speed. Other audio bibles I have listened to offer talented dramatic readers, only they just forge ahead.. no pauses, no breaks. I used to be a special ed teacher for people with dyslexia. The key to remembering something is to let people run a little ticket tape, to not give them tons of information to digest all at once. And the Bible particularly is a book that people are trying to remember!Some of the people reading for this audio Bible are not very talented and I actually got a kick out of them, but they do a very good job all in all. AND there are different voices for different parts, not just one man altering his voice here and there. PLUS they stick to the script, and read it Word for Word.(MY focus was NOT on exceptional dramatc talent, but finding an sudio Bible that wouldn't wear my brain out trying to keep up.)I purchased this audio Bible for myself and for my son and his new bride. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to learn the Bible.
My hubby, my oldest daughter, and I sat back and listened to the words of God last night. Feeling so blessed to have the chance to stop everything and be together to hear our Lords teachings. I had gotten this NIV Bible CDs for my husband to listen to while driving for hours at a time. He like me love them. So I suggest if you love to hear the Bible as you work outside or just to relaxation before bed these I had gotten from Amazon are amazing.

I received this as a gift a few years ago and love it. The wonderful voices and soft background music makes it so enjoyable to listen to. I ordered this set as a gift to someone this Christmas and they enjoy it as much as I do. I highly recommend it, you have it all in audio!
I love it!! It easy to understand, the voices and background sounds are not distracting. It give you a clear understanding of the Bible. Its told like a story, so if your looking to learn Bible verses, the NIV version is not what you want. However, if your looking to understand the stories, this is the audio version you would want. I listen in the car on my way to and from work, and I go through a disc every 2 days. Its great, I wouldn't be able to read that fast.
This has been a Blessing for me, as when I drive I can hear the word of God. Nice soft music in the background, there are many different people playing different parts, which breaks up the only one voice versions. There is even the sound of animals and birds in the background. Very relaxing and entertaining way of listening to God's Truth †Discs come in a nice vinyl case with zipper.
I listen to this in my car and I love it. Listening to the bible allows you to hear things that you never grasped when reading. I am sure I will listen to this over and over again as the years go by.
