What great storytellers, though I do admit to skipping several pages of graphic wedding night description. Even if Katja and Calder are fictional characters, I feel like we ought to respect in the intimacy of their wedding night. Other than that one criticism, the story and the development of their romantic relationship was very entertaining, as was the villains' pursuit. Even with the few skipped pages, I'd describe this as a clean story. I really enjoyed the afternoon.
This is an awesome Read! I love the h/h, as well as the secondary characters. It is a wonderful story, filled with romance, adventure and intrigue, and even a little mystique. I loved that the heroine had Viking warrior abilities, but loved the fact that she was not a manly, aggressive type. She was very feminine, shy and humble, but if threatened, she is deadly with her amazing skill. Wow. I could not put this book down, and wished it was longer, not that it was not long, but I could not get enough of the characters, and wanted to continue reading about them. I cannot wait for book two of this series! I would wholeheartedly recommend this read! It's a must read!!
The Highlander’s Viking Bride by Cathy & DD MacRae 4.5 Stars!I loved this story! Born to a evil and brutal sire Katja finds her father has shamed and embarrassed her one last time by agreeing to the suit of peace, if the new MacGerry’s Laird (Calder) will agree to marry his Sinclair daughter and leave with her by sunset so he never has to see her again! Katja finds no peace in her new clan and feels she needs to be somewhere else, where she will be safe! This fast pace storyline is well defined with lots of adventure, danger, great characters, witty and humorous dialogue, and a heroine with badass fighting skills!One disappointment was Calder never told her he’d seen her years earlier and had thought of her ever since. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great highland story.
I liked the romance story between Katja and Calder. But I thought Katja's trip to escape the MacGerry was thrown in to show her warrior skills, as a strong heroine. She did find the love and understanding of her Aunt that helped her after a lifetime of abuse by her father.
Great Book! I love this series. I like strong spirited women and men who don't try to change them. I found no dull spots in this book it had great well rounded characters you really felt for. The story kept me up late turning pages. I confess to reading it then, within two days deciding to read it again.
I really enjoyed reading about Katja. Her sight , the dog and her ability to fight for herself. A very good read.
I love all Cathy MacRae's books and she never disappoints. I enjoyed this book a lot. Well written storyline, easy to follow and it's full of action and adventures. I highly recommend this book.
I really liked this book. If your into strong female characters, who can fight as well as the men in the books you'll love it. No damsel in this book. And the male hero in this book didn't try to change her , just loved her for who she was.
