Turns out my local public library has the audio book, so on his recommendation, I decided to check it out.Gordon tells the story of a businessman whose career is on the ropes. His marriage is unhappy, and he has run out of fixes. His car is out of commission for a couple weeks, so he has to take the bus to work. The bus driver, Joy, recognizes his despair and, along with the other passengers, introduces him to their 10 rules.Gordon's main point is that we should have a positive attitude and convey that to the people around us. Managers set the tone for people who work under them, and should insist that no one stay "on the bus" if they won't buy into the positivity. As Gordon tells the story, the reluctant bus rider implements changes at his workplace with outstanding results.The Energy Bus is an overly simplistic business fable, just as you would expect from this sort of book. But the broad points are important and are presented clearly and effectively. Attitude is so important, and the tone set by a manager or director is inevitably passed to the team. "Energy vampires" impact team productivity and unity. Gordon is so positive and encouraging it's contagious. All I can say is WOW! I've was just dealing with a family member negative vampire one day before reading this book. A friend at Church said your family member has negative energy. I had been on the ropes for years on how to handle this vampire and also I did not recognize he was being a negative energy vampire, until I got a double sign confirmation from my friend at Church, but still it was this book that enlightened me and truly showed me how all these years I have been doing well but every time the vampire comes around it was draining, and I was feeding into it. No more Thank God to the signs and confirmation of this book. Because of this book I am able now to understand the power of The Energy Bus. Please read it and share with as many as you truly care about. Its a Life Changer and we only have one Life, so why spend it on negativity when we can all be so Positive and in enjoyment on our Journey! Be Blessed not stressed. Every time I had a negative experience I fueled it not knowing I was only destroying myself and all those around. Because of this book I now know how to handle those negative vampires and negative experiences. in order to not let them in my life, but yet Feed my positive. Love you all!

I would give this book a 5 star review but (not trying to be negative just real), while the ideas are spot on, the story is pretty simple and corny. The message is really something life changing that I wish everyone could hear, but the story is so golly jee whiz that even I was rolling my eyes at times. And I'm Miss positive!

As a husband currently confronted with a marital crisis of my own making, I desperately searched Amazon for books that might help me navigate these scary and uncertain times and find my way back to my wife. I quickly found and purchased half a dozen books and have began devouring them, including this one. The description, author biography, low price ($1.99) and large number of 5-star reviews had me quickly clicking "buy now".As a non-religious person, when I actually began reading this book I was initially very dismayed when I started seeing references to God and biblical scriptures. If I had read some of the low-star reviews that mention this, I probably would not have purchased this.......and that would have been my great loss. There is so much good information in this book, most of which stands on it's own without the religious content. I finished three of the other six books I purchased before beginning "If He Only Knew", and while the information in this book reinforces a lot of the concepts talked about in the others, the author communicates in a very personal and organic way that I found extremely helpful and comforting, making the information much easier to relate to and absorb. Some of the other books I've read, while also informative and helpful, often seem to be written by those with an academic psychological background which can sometimes feel a bit...clinical...for lack of a better term. As an analogy, while the other books might be perfectly prepared meals from a fine dining establishment, this book feels more like warm comfort food. Both can be appreciated and enjoyed for what they are, and do not take away from the other.Even if you are non-religious like myself, if you are a married man, you should read this book. If you aren't in crisis with your marriage yet, this book can help you prevent ever reaching that point. For those in crisis like myself, I believe the principles and lessons can absolutely help you find your way back to your partner and marriage if you are willing to put in the effort.If you can't get past the infrequent religious references to see all the great information presented here, you are still putting yourself and your beliefs first over your spouse. Instead, follow the teaching of Bruce Lee..."Absorb what is useful, reject what is useless, add what is essentially your own." Don't get hung up on petty details, do whatever it takes to put your spouse first.

I'm your typical knucklehead husband, been with my wife for 15 years yet there is so much i don't know about her (when it comes to her emotional needs, what makes her tic). We recently hit a rough patch and contemplated divorce; when a disagreement happens she always tell me why can't I look in the mirror. So in an effort to keep my marriage intact I looked for a book for husbands, i decided to settle on this one and boy this OPENED MY EYES! So much so I can't believe I missed so much and lack appreciation of my life's partner, for any struggling husband or wife looking to knock some sense into her husband i highly recommend this.

I know it said the book isn't for women to read, but i did.We have been married for 32 years I bought the book for my husband because when we have a disagreement his favorite thing is to say "I just don't understand you".. He promised to read it if i got it,That was 2 month's ago. He has read 3 chapter's and that's it for him. Nothing is ever going to change with him, but it helped me to understand some of my own feeling's and reactions.This book was spot on about a lot of thing's about women.And i highly recommend it to men that actually want to understand their wife's and make a better marriage. As the old saying's go's men are from Mars and women are from Venus.Men think with their heads women think with their heart's. In this disposible world, marriage fall's by the wayside more then it should because couple's don't want to put the work or time into it. If you really love your women read this book.It will make your life and her's a lot more enjoyable and make for a longer loving and lasting relationship .

I admit I read this in hopes I could give to my husband. I cried at all I wish he would be willing to do and maybe this does work but I never foresee him picking this up. I had to stop. It is wonderful there is a man who did/is willing to do these things for his spouse and realizes that she will respond better when he tries to put her first.It has been an endless cycle of what my husband believes to be me having an attitude and him reacting when I am reacting to his behavior and he is then reacting to me a good portion of it. I am in no way saying I do not have a role to play in our looming divorce. If only he knew... if only he would educate himself on this... but then he has to want to. And there lies the biggest issue. You cannot make someone want to.
